Taber at 120: A Celebration of Community, Progress, and Pride

Taber is more than the Corn Capital of Canada. It’s a place where tradition meets progress, where families put down roots, and where community pride runs deep. For 120 years, this close-knit, hard-working town has been shaped by its agricultural heritage, thriving local businesses, and the people who call it home.

This year, that spirit takes center stage as Taber marks a major milestone: 120 years since its incorporation. On June 30, the community will come together for a celebration that honours the past, embraces the present, and looks boldly toward the future. From live music and local flavours to family fun and historical tributes, this promises to be one of Taber’s most memorable celebrations yet, and everyone’s invited.

From Fields to Frontiers: Honouring the Past, Embracing the Future

Before it was officially a town, Taber was a land of fertile soil and wide-open possibilities. Early settlers were drawn here by the rich farmland and irrigation potential, laying the groundwork for what would become an agricultural powerhouse.

Known proudly as the Corn Capital of Canada, Taber’s story is deeply rooted in its fields. Agriculture here is more than just crops, it’s the backbone of the local economy, the heart of the culture, and a source of identity that connects generations.

Headlining the evening is The Washboard Union, the JUNO and 9-time CCMA Award-winning country band, celebrated for their soaring harmonies and high-energy performances that never fail to get the crowd on its feet.

Joining them is Aaron Goodvin, the Alberta-born, Nashville-based artist and award-winning songwriter whose heartfelt hits have earned him 13 CCMA nominations, including CCMA Songwriter of the Year in 2018. Rounding out the lineup is Kalsey Kulyk, a rising star from Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, whose raw, honest storytelling and soulful sound have captured hearts across Canada and beyond.
